• Introduction-your handout includes price sheet and umpire fees for this year as well as tournament information for 2012.
• Insurance- all teams that are registered to play in the NJBL, and have a deposit on file, are insured for that season for medical and liability for practices, games and tournaments whether in NY or outside of NY. It covers players and coaches. Our insurance runs from January 1 to December 31, as long as your team is playing in the NJBL. This is a secondary insurance policy. Our insurance coverage is excellent. We are serviced by one of the most professional insurance brokers in America. Anytime you have an insurance question or wish to submit a claim you may do so through me. Additionally, if you need an insurance certificate for any municipality or tournament you just have to ask me for the certificate and I will take care of it.

• COMPOSITE BATS - Please note the composite bats that are the issue are COMPOSITE BARREL bats. Some are legal, some are not. For the list of allowed COMPOSITE BARREL bats allowed you may view them on our web site. Note: COMPOSITE HANDLE bats, HYBRIDS, are legal IF the barrel is metal alloy. For 13 and older teams the bat must be BBCOR rated.
• NFHS allowed bats - they must have a BBCOR rating. This applies to teams that are 13 and older who play on 90’ bases. If a bat does not have a BBCOR rating it is prohibited for use in the NJBL for 13 and older.
NOTE: If we determine, after investigation, that a reputable company exists that will test and declare certain COMPOSITE barrel bats safe we will then allow their use.

Congrats to Mike Fitzpatrick!
The NJBL wishes to congratulate Mike Fitzpatrick, retired Nassau County PD BSO Officer, who came on the job in 1972 and who is now recovering from cancer. Mike is a much decorated police officer who was also a suberb athlete excelling in NCPD softball and running.
He is in the final stages of his difficult, lengthy and harsh treatment and has again shown that he is the consummate competitor. He has the heart of a giant and the determination of a real life survivor!
Excellent job Mike.
